I got this kit from Comet Miniatures and from my limited experience working with kits such as this, it seems to be a fairly good product.
Although the magazine is larger than the original, Ive decided to keep it intact as to me it looks cool and i want to keep it totally factory standard apart from the led counter.
Will post progress pics once i get started.

The entire kit,

An example of the prep work needed,

Marty put this led counter together for me in 10 minutes costing
$5.00 for the lot.( not the Batt) Ive seen them for sale on other forums for $50.00

Just used a little ND lighting gel to dull te leds, then added some purple gel to deepen the red,

Can't wait to see more progress on this, Tim.

You gonna go with green or the brown bess?

This should be a good build.
I hear these kits are a real pain to put together.

Good Luck.

Thanks guys, not using either colour Neil.
Im limited to using only whats available in spray cans. The closest
colour i could find is a tamiya "dark yellow" (usaf). Its very close but lighter than the brown bess.

Can't wait to see it Smile

That LED counter is great.

Sorry to go o.t
Does the display part have a particular name?
I have something in mind that i'd love to make, not sure i'll ever get around to it, and would love to know how to make a countdown clock.

No problem Neil, its all about the interaction as far as im concerned.
The counters dont have specific brand names as such and Marty had a big bag of them in al different sizes. The ones i used are two 12mm x 16mm
single counters, they almost exactly fit the mount on the rifle, just need to shave a mil off either side on the rifle. Ive seen these at many electricle suppliers and are only like a buck each.
Give Marty a PM if you need more tech info and heres a pic of the back wireing if it helps.
Tim.

Cheers Tim

I'm not sure if i'll ever get around to doing it, plus, i know nothing about electrics, lol.
I can dream though.

This has been sittin around for almost a year now, when news of the HCG came out i hung back to see how it turned out.
Great unit but as some had issues decided to go with this one and have done a fair bit of work on it but is still a long way from finished.
Its still factory standard apart from the counter and i replaced the grenade and gun barrel with heavy steel.

The pulse rifle is such a cool weapon.
Tim, have you decided if you're going to paint it brown or green?

Neil.

the area around the counter has been painted with it already.

After much semi joyful struggle, i finally got this baby finished up and hangin on the wall.
Had to do a lot on instinct as the instructions arent very helpfull. Thanks again Marty for the counter.
Really happy with the whole thing.

Thanks guys,

It is very crisp, i`d love to age it but wouldnt dare after all the prep work put into it. That BR bathmatting has come in very handy on a few projects and a few to come.

Ive got Marty wrapped up nice qnd tight in an exclusive contract br6 Wink

This has drawn very little attention over at the Rpf, maybe i should have put a "droop" in it. Wink
