Yes O.B. I would this time; last time I missed the boat (bottle) because of financial stuff, but now I would be willing to be part of a great project and also a great product |

Id be in for another, you bet.
If a suitable company can be found, perhaps a De Szar project can be included. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

You Aussies don't ask for much do you!?
Thank's all for the response...waiting to hear back from the Italians at this point.
It might be interesting to price a half and half order (Half DeCzar Half BR Whiskey Bottle) Of Course that would mean fewer of each being produced...something to think about. |

I still adore my original but I'm down for a new bottle with no reservations.
Put me on that list... |

Fewer bottles, but double the molding costs. _________________ Pete |

I think there certainly would be a market for both bottles.
However, to the best of our knowledge there is no "found" item for the JW whiskey bottle, whereas there are de Czar bottles already available (albeit pricey).
I'd say focus on one thing and concentrate all money and efforts on finding a way to produce another round of JW whiskey bottles to meet BR collectors demand.
If that process worked well (no breakage, reasonably inexpensive, high quality), then it could be adapted for a run of the de Czar bottles.
Just my 2 cents of course! |

Its only because were so bloody far away
I raised the De Szar bottle only because the whole world has changed since we last thought about bottles. As mentioned by others previously,
firms may be more responsive to smaller orders in the present climate.
Costs bugger all to ask.
Anything that gets O.B. back in the game is worth a shot _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I LOVE my 2 wiskey bottles, but I'd be in for 2 more and 2 de Czar as well if it could help produce another run ! (BTW, iirc Kai / finbladerunner had a project to produce a resin de Czar from the one he owns)

Speaking as a newby who missed out on the first run, I too would love at least one bottle maybe two depending on price.

Thanks guy's.
I have put out some feeler's BOTH in the states and abroad.
I have already heard back from the Italians,
same fellow I was speaking to originally and, as he was then, he seems very eager to get our business...
though I will be completely honest with you all and say---
I believe the shipping costs alone (last checked came to over $2000 JUST for shipping) will be prohibative.
Up-dates as they occur.
I agree with Oldzey. I would first like to establish a connection with a bottle maker here in the States that will produce the Whiskey Bottle BEFORE fracturing our interests by taking on another bottle. I personally have owned several DeCzar's so the information/dimensions of such will be there for us when we are ready to move ahead on having them made.
Also, I asked earlier that ALL contacts for bottler's/manufactures be sent to me privately by PM.
I can't stress enough how important this is.
If you post a link out here on the boards, chances are it will be un-usable to the project if it is to move ahead.
Why? Because any number of good intentioned people and some NOT so good intentioned will follow the posted link and begin sending e-mails and or calling those companies trying to push the project along and or trying to swipe the whole thing out from under our feet. It HAS happened in the past and will happen again if we are sloppy.
In the end, all that ends up happening is that the whole thing get's botched up for ALL OF US.
I should tell you all, though perhaps I don't need to, that at the start of the LAST project I was FLOODED with requests from good intentioned people who ALL demanded to know my sources.
Some thought they had a RIGHT to know them while other's tried to co-erse me with threats of dropping off the project if they weren't told...
Whether it was out of fear, mistrust, coniving or whatever...
I maintain today as I did back then;
there is NO NEED for you to know this information and in the end if I was to give it out it would do nothing but harm the project AND your chances of getting your hands on a much sought after bottle.
Secondly, I haven't started any new list yet but when and if I do it will be done much more simply than last time. IF I start taking down names for a list it will ONLY be people who have sent money for a bottle and I won't be taking multiple order's. More on that later if we move ahead with a bottle maker.
OK...nuff preaching on my part.
I'll post again when I get some responses to my querries. |

I would truly love one of these bottles for my collection but can't commit at this time
Hopefully when/if these become availible again i'll be able to get one, but i'm not holding my breath.
Can't wait to see more on this project either way.
Loving your work O.B |

I fully understand your philosophy behind such project: i.e. the non-disclosure of the manufacture; all I want (yes, it's a want ) is a good product at the end of the day |

was wondering if a mold was made could a place that blows glass make them one at a time? Like the Cibi is hand blown crystal. Im sure its blown in a mold. Times are tough so a guy might site there and do them one at a time just to keep some funds rolling in. _________________ The other Karl! |

I'm in OB. I'd probably get two at least. I also like the idea of a follow up de czar.
Let me know if there is any way I can help. You more than likely have all the materials you need from the last bottle though.
You just need a more dependable and reputable supplier.
Check on shipping for both coasts as well. you'd be surprised what a diff it might make..
When I had my toys shipped they wanted nearly 4 grand to go east coast from HK, but only fifteen hundred to go to LA... it was more than worth it to have someone who was in on the project pick them up in a uhaul and drive them out.
Just an idea.
Hope this works out. I'd say as much as everyone wants these, you should make it a bit more profitable for your trouble this time too (sorry everyone, but I know what goes into this kind of project, and OB got burned on the last one too trying to help us all get a wicked sought after piece).
Cheers man, and I hope it works out..
Maybe I could print your cad models on the 3d printer to check out dimensions and stuff before sending it off for production.
or we could print and cast our own caps? |
