Well Here is an interesting bit of news. Seems Ridley Scott himself is going to direct after all.

Well, I guess that was one hell of a pitch for Scott to agree to direct a pre-quel!!!!! I'm sure he asked for 100% control on that baby
Eager to see the follow-up... |

This could be cool after all.. Im hoping to only see a short flyby of a Nostromo type ship picking up a signal unbeknownst by crew, maybe a few minutes max... a bunch of cool space jockeys some cool subtitles, and some more Space jockey craft, aliens getting genetically engineered maybe a jockey pyramid, and a big planet cleaning war before the jockey ship gets infected.... this may be awesome if they do it right!

I'm really happy Ridley will be directing it himself but i really like the idea of a mystery behind the space jockey.
Arrghh...i'm torn, lol. |

Wow this is good news. Now we get to see the results of the arguement; well, is the Space Jockey really grown out of his chair or isn't he?
Says Space Jockey. Jeez this could get confusing... |

That could be the fun thing about it...maybe they are so advanced that that an individuals role is already assigned..maybe some can walk, or pilot a ship, maybe they can somehow integrate with that telescope navigation thing...who knows... hopefully they will show just a bit like ALIEN and not go all crazy like the sequels. God one can only hope next we dont see predators vs. Space jockeys like some on other forums are suggesting, or a whole new set of sequels.
I have a feeling this whole "reboot" thing is the way to take the original movie back on track, I imagine a lot of people who are fans of the AVP and the more poorly done sequels will be scratching their heads. This will be Sir Ridley Scotts triumphant moment to show the world and all of the other directors and 20th Century Fox execs just who is the Master with the original vision. As bad as expectations are for some, very possibly we could be blown away if he sticks to his vision of the original background premise.
If it is not done right, then get ready for Aliens Vs. Terminator. or worse..just like what happened when it became a "franchise" |

funny you should ask.. I have one already roughed out in Styrofoam, I have it on hold until about the end of this month, then after I skin it, I will post it here... looks like a 2 foot bent horseshoe This will be a model as well, but it will be a lightweight fully cast model that will require airbrushing, and the assembly of only a couple peices. |

I never thought he'd agree to this. Very surprised. Has he abandoned 'The Forever War' or was that just a production job?
A 71 year old Ridley and an unproven screenwriter? Hmmm.
Wonder what they'll call it?
A L I E N 3D?
A L I E N ZERO
FINDING XENO!
Lets see now: prologue, beginning, the early years, the first batch, genesis, origins, chronicles...
A L I E N: PROLEGOMENON? (back to the thesaurus methinks)

Go here: http://richardbrick.com/in-development/
and scroll down to see an example of a Jon Spaihts (the guy who is writing the ALIEN prequel) Sci-Fi screenplay.
Of course I'm not suggesting you can predict anything based on this excerpt but it's probably enough to make forum member JTParker carry out his threat to torch that ALIEN collection!

Development is the key word; before the final screenplay is approved it'll be something new alltogether! You know, rewrites . I've seen pitches before... |
