Does anyone here know where to find a flamethrower similar to the ones used in ALIEN? I had one guy a while back ago tell me he had 2, and then he never wrote back after I told him I would buy it, never heard about it again. If anyone here knows where to find a decent replica, a kit, or even dimensions so I can make my own, your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! |

I'd try the RPF for something like that...ofcourse...I wouldn't go around saying you want a WORKING one...people will look at you funny. |

Shawn Morgan (Morgan13) who is working on the Rexim Nostromo pistol also made one of these, as well as the grappling/spear gun. Hopefully we can convince him to make a full set of these for us

I was trying to find one of these myself about a month ago and came across something.
Here's the link....
http://www.goldenarmor.com/aliensFLAMER.htm
I also sent him an email and got this response...
"All the parts are necessarily cast SOLID so it's not cheap at all to make.
A raw kit is $235"
He also does a Narcissus kit which is "molded from the model built for the miniature photography in ALIENS"
I haven't bought anything from him so not sure what it's like.
Hope it's ok for me to post that info and hope it helps you JTP |

Yeah, saw one flamethrower from this guy last year on eBay... but the casting looked too rough regarding the price... (and I also wonder now if he wasn't banned from the RPF for repeated bad deals)
This to say be patient, Shawn Morgan told me last year he had a flamethrower in the works, this is definitely the guy you should buy it from !
Fred
BTW, Shawn's screen ID here is Morganthirteen, not Morgan13...

Wow, very cool... Thanks guys!!!
at least I know I can obtain one now..Im not too worried about the casting as I can always clean it up and fix it..I will try to get in contact with both of these people to see what my options are.. actually on the PRF I got no help at all after three WTB posts, and no flamethrower from the guy who said he had 2 of them..... |

in the golden armor add it says...
Quote: | This is a scratch build full size replica of the FLAMETHROWER seen in Ridley Scott's ALIEN. The weapon is used by Dallas, Ripley and Parker and has quite a bit of screen time. This was crafted by Shawn M. and is offered as a kit that includes nearly 2 dozen separate components. Email for more details. |
So it is Shawn's anyway.

Who is Shawn? and what is the fuss about Golden armor?
I looked at the pictures on the site,, and the Flamethrower is awesome.
Unless someone can point me to a better one..(in fact there is no other flame-thrower kit being offered, I have looked for a year) and Im talking the real ALIEN, not the spin-off movies)
The guy I contacted was not named Shawn, so there must be some confusion or maybe he is a partner with this other guy, either way, there is no other kit, and this is damn good looking |

I think Shawn is the person who makes the replica NOSTROMO pistols, the one a Stormtrooper is holding in one of the Star Wars photos aswell (Not in the movie though) |

Wow! I guess I will need to get a Nostromo Pistol as well! That must be one of the pictures on another thread here in the ALIEN section... |

Golden Armor was selling Shawn's kit. I have no idea whether or not the GA kit is a recast or not.
Shawn is a member here, but doesn't visit regularly. He has made a lot of great kits, that he masters out of wood and styrene. He also most famously made the Syd Mead concept Blade Runner gun that was originally made for Syd himself as a gift from the guys at Hot Wheels.
Here is some of his work here...

GA is a well known recaster.
Most of the pix on his site are of other peoples work.
If you can actually get stuff from him and not get ripped off it's usually crap. |
