While he was at work on the film, Giger had the great idea to shoot a documentary on the making of A L I E N. This movie is only about Giger's creations developed for the movie and the comments are pretty close to what you can read in the GIGER'S ALIEN book BUT you can see a lot of unseen things such as set construction, Giger at work on his creations (space jockey, eggs, paintings, big chap, etc) and have a rough idea (better than nothing) of what it was like to be on the sets, that's great !!!
I first saw this documentray in 1979 on french TV and searched for it in DVD edition for a very long time... Well, I was lucky enough to purchase a pirate edition on evilbay last year, so I'm going to post a lot of screencaps in this thread, hope you'll like them !

PS : Some excerpts taken from this documentary can be seen on a few ALIEN QUADRILOGY featurettes...

More on the derelict... and more on the late Peter Voysey, the very talented sculptor who helped Giger bring to life many of his creations for the film !

I think there is some of this on the ALIEN special features, isn't there?
Something about sculpting the Space Jockey on there IIRC.
