Well, there's a lot of talent on this board and others. I'm guessing someone might be able to do it.

Of course, it would be cheaper if it were a found item. Has anyone seen anything like it anywhere?

What is funny to me now is that I had an identical case as the one they have in the pics in my hands just last week at the thrift store, but didn't buy it because I thought it was kind of ugly looking. It also didn't have any foam. pretty common cases though.

We should know soon how much it sells for.

Is the ilve auction only viewable on PCs? I have an old Mac but can't seem to get the Firefox plugin working.

Never mind, I found it on the help pages... you have to have a PC or Intel Mac running Windows in emulation! Shocked

Hope it went to some sort of museum or such. Would love to see it first hand.

Not bragging at all, but I was the last of the two bidders. I was on the phone from London. I just couldn't go the extra. Seriously bummed. The other guy just wouldn't give up and I went further than I really wanted as it was.

Nice guy on the phone at PIH. His name was Brian and he took the open cylinder shots at my request a few weeks ago. I have no idea who or where the prop will end up. Ho Hum.....

Bad luck DeckB26354. It was exciting to watch anyway. I thought for a moment it wasn't going to go at all - it just sat there with no bids for what seemed like an age.

Incidentally I was bidding (unsuccessfully) on the previous lot - the ship from Starcrash - a different league entirely!

Sorry you didn't win it Deck.

I hope the new owner is a huge BR fan and takes good care of it.

Really sorry for you, i am sure it would of been a very magic moment. If you had won the Blaster had you made any special arrangements to get it into the UK, if you don't mind me asking.

Thank you guys. I am pretty depressed about it. What really cheesed me off was that if the Auction had been this time last year, with the Stirling to USD exchange rate, I could have gone the distance.

2 of us managed to get $240,000 together and that had to include the 18% buyers fee.

I had several ways of getting it into the country. PIH could confirm that with the holes in the barrel , it was not a firing weapon. A museum offered to help import it as a display peice. If all that failed, I had a contact in the UK Forces who would bring it in....but that wasn't entirely legal and almost definitely wouldn't have been necessary.

Not to bring the mood down to my level this morning, but if I had have won it my plan was to systermatically take it apart and photograph and measure every part and then post the pictures here as a surprise.

C'est la vie
