I bought this kit from Siderio last year when he started making them and its been sitting in storage until last month when I finally decided to get on it. I followed Sid's prep instructions, except after I sanded the parts I tried buffing them on a wheel. This almost proved to be disastrous when a small piece of the first part I tried buffing actualy melted!!:eek Luckily that part is not visible (it's internal) so I let that buffing idea go. I used Perma Blue to blue the parts that need to be blued and painted the black parts with Krylon Satin Black. The LEDs also proved to be a pain in the butt coz I accidentally broke the switch when trying to put it in the mag cover, so until I can find a replacement, the LEDs are non-functional. Sad

Here are some pics:

Here are some pics of it along side my Rick Ross PKD-Magnum which I also painted with WorldCon colors:

Thanks again to Karl for the excellent reference pics!:thumbsup

looking good! though the only thing that sticks out are the wires, they look a little too big.

is there any chance you could show a photo of the lever cocked back showing the bolt moving? never seen this action on sids WC model. also some close ups of the little symbols on the receiver would be cool Smile

Excellent job, man! Did you blue the frame as well? And if so, did you go with a lighter shade than you did on the Steyr receiver?

Wow, try and get close to the original, yell out "Its Ridley"..... and then pull the old switcheroo.

A flash mob should show up at Profiles all totin' replicas. They won't know what hit 'em.

Beastmaster, I'll take some more pics later today. And I'll keep and eye out for thinner wires.

Nexus6, I didn't blue the both the outer and Bulldog grip frames. Instead I painted them black. Somehow I like the look better and it more closely reflects the WorldCon grips in Karl's pics.

Bassnoir, I'd love to build another kit. But getting another into Malaysia currently would be almost impossible as the customs are getting more anal about anything firearms related, even though they are airsofts or paintball related. I recently bought a resin Lawgiver in kit form from an RPFer and it was confiscated. Even a scope I bought for my Greedo Killer conversion has not reached me. So if you send me the kit to build up, there's a big possibility it might not even reach me. Sorry. Smile

...appreciate the reply....truly sorry you have to go thru such painful hoops to get what you want....love the Worldcon look you were able to create....would like to see your take on "newly issued"....way of the world I suppose....keep the faith....and I'll keep looking....

GREAT Work! Really good. Very interested to know what choice of black paint you used on the grip? I have a problem with my Black Acryllic Piant peeling of after a short time!

Excellent job, well done.

Sorry for the late reply... I used Krylon Satin Black on the grip frame. The older variety... not the newer "upgraded" nozzle type.
