Those satchels with the red circle visible in several pictures must be magazine pouches(battery packs?)for the pistols. |

Nope Steevy, they're batteries for the electrical pikes they use to track the chestburster...

Yeah Skin Job I can even see one of them plugged in to one in one of the pictures. The shot that confused me was one on another(actually early in this) thread showing the packs on a table with pistols only.

I should have looked at the picture more carefully before I posted. You have a real sharp eye for detail Skin Job. I'm really appreciating Alien more and more every day.I always liked it but I didn't always notice the depth of creativity in the production. When I watched the documentary on the making of the film I was shocked by the relatively low budget.Judging by the production values I had thought it was budgeted on par with BR.One of Ridley's most impresssive pieces of work and more impressive in some ways than BR. |

Fred,
Beautiful piece. I am in the midst of building up one of Shawn's guns myself, working in the scope rail piece (pre=Picatinny) and the extended step down barrel myself. Would you please put up a pic of the other side of yours? I am debating on whether or not to mill off the bolt and bolt slot or just leaving it and being "close" to the Alien version.
Also, what caliber / diameter did you make the barrel (or, emitter tip)?
Also, I noticed that Phase Pistol's "early" version has a more detailed upper scope mount than the one seen on the "2nd version" of Shawn's gun. Was the change made to accomdate the SW version?
Thanks for any help or information you can provide.

Here is my NOSTROMO GUN, a second generation Shawn Morgan kit built by him. I've replaced the bottom scope with a screen accurate Star Wars / rebel blaster scope from Master Replicas. I still have work on this one to make it look closer to the screen-used gun(s) but I think it's a good start !

Mine wasn't a kit. It is a one piece casting but was the SW version with bolt, etc. and without the lower Singlepoint scope and mount or the stepped barrel assembly. I'm having a scope base made to attach to the bottom of the magwell and a barrel out of turned aluminum. I've got a real Singlepoint that I'll attach to it when done.
I had this sitting around for years as a SW display, but decided to change it to an Alien weapon.
Shawn may still be selling them, but I don't know for sure. Maybe somebody on this website knows. |

What exactly is the barrel part? A welder nozzle? |

Gary,
Thanks a lot for the kind words, all credit goes to Shawn for building and painting this amazing piece... (I've just updated the gun with a more accurate lower scope) (I plan to do more in the near future in order to make it more screen accurate)
Here is a pic of the other side, hope it'll help you take a decision on yours...

0,5 centimeters.

Well spoted !
At the time Shawn built it for me, he was unable to find the right upper scope like the one mounted on Karl's gun... so he replaced it with what he could find... I was OK back then with Shawn's replacement solution but I've since changed my mind and tried to identify and buy the proper scope, without luck... Any info on this one would be really appreciated !
Fred
PS :
Steevy, yes last year he proposed it as a kit or a colmpleted model... Go ahead and ask him !
Clutch, I really don't know where the barrel part came from but I've always thought of something like a garden hose tip...

Clutch, here is the kind of thing I was thinking of... The left part plugs into a garden hose... Not close but pretty similar to the Nostromo pistol barrel, don't you think ?

Yeah, that is close. Not too concerned about it now because Shawn is coming out with an Alien version of his pistol soon. |

Thanks JT !
The ALIEN quadrilogy DVD is a great source material for these kind of pics. eBay auctions sometimes offer great opportunities to acquire pretty rare material... and I don't talk about web surfing, of course !

Fred, Thanks for the awesome pic! Your paint job looks great as well!
I'm going to turn a "barrel" out of aluminum and base it on the pics available. I'll probably compromise and leave the bolt handle, slot, etc. intact for now. I have a real Singlepoint to spare so I'll add that but I have to locate the correct rings. |

I also have an airhose attachment that looks very close to that shape. It's meant for you to slip the hose over. I've also discovered that the gun was misted with a metallic paint, scope and all. |

Eltee, thanks a lot for the kind words but all credit for the paint job goes to Shawn Morgan, he delivered the gun fully painted !
Can't wait to see this aluminum barrel you're planning to make ! Always a good idea to load that rather light resin gun with metallic parts to give it more realism...
Clutch, can't wait to learn more about your discovery about the misted metalic paint since I'm planning to upgrade my Nostromo gun in the near future to make it more screen accurate...

I am on the lookout for parts to convert Shawn's older Rexim into an Alien version. If anybody is looking into making the metal shroud I would be interested. I will also probably get into one of Shawn's new versions too, but I like variety.
