|
|
Well, the other day I had a few hours to spare. I pulled out a 23rd Century Pistol kit and decided to throw it together. Unfortunately, paint could not dry fast enough for my time contraints so there a few smudges, primarily on the chrome portions. Anyway, it was a fun kit to build, taking only 3 hours of time. If I had really taken a lot more time, this could be a really great build, but since I did it as a rush, it turned out OK with some apparent flaws and inaccuracies.
I used Krylon Chrome, Brass, Testors Copper, and a flat Grey Primer. For the Phaser 1 I cut styrene to create the chrome middle.
All in all, it was a lot of fun and I look forward to taking more time on my next.
Thanks for looking!! |

Thanks I am happy with it, I just kind of regret not giving it the attention that it deserved. Though, for $30.00 and some paint, I cannot complain. |

Cool! Which kit is that?
I ask because I have a pretty old kit that with the parts on sprues in a white cardboard box with a black and white label that has a picture of a real phaser on it that I have never assembled...
I never really checked to see how accurate it was though. Every now and then I "find" it and think about putting it together but want to determine how accurate it is first.
I like the kit that Rod sells on Roddenberry.com, made by Moore and Horch. _________________ "Your life as you know it is now over. You exist to service us" ~ newborn child to parent |

Thanks guys! The kit is the 23rd Century Phaser Pistol. The box you describe sounds like the same box I had, so it is probably the same kit.
I will try and dig up a site that I have saved that gave some good advice on making the kit more accurate. I will post it later! |

The main resource I found for this phaser was at www.tk560.com
I believe there is a gentlman with the name Jimbo890 at RPF who runs this site.
This thread here at the RPF:

Has a ton of information about the TOS Phaser. It is worth checking out before you start your build.
I hope that helps Good luck digging up the box!

Man, they just keep going and going. Very cool thanks!
That picture of the boxed set is the one I have unbuilt. I have a few other phasers that I have had for a while and don't remember who they even came from! I think one os from Steve Horch.
