Forgive my ignorance...
So I'm watching VH1 Classic and BAM! Genesis - Tonight, Tonight, Tonight comes on. I had never seen this Genesis video before. We were poor in the 80s and didn't have the MTV.

John, because you didn't have MTV back in the day, you missed out on this. It was the teaser for a TV series pilot, "Blade Runner - the Musical." Phil Collins starring as a tough but moral detective, too short to be sent to an off-world colony so he tempers his bitterness by breaking into song as he patrols the mean streets of 2019 LA in search of replicants who terrorized humans by singing songs written by Yoko Ono and dancing disco.
The series was retooled, rewritten and was eventually produced as, "Cop Rock." |
