Maybe it's the lighting, but it looks like one of the tabs at the center of the cylinder that advance the rotation is misaligned. Could be just the angle of the pic, but if one of those is bent or mis ... |

If you had a machine shop make one out of stainless steel it's not really a gun part. If you explain it's a prop and show them what you're doing, it shouldn't be a problem.
